8 Signs Your Partner Loves You Dearly But Just Isn't Attracted To You Anymore

8 Signs Your Partner Loves You Dearly But Just Isn't Attracted To You Anymore

Love isn't the only ingredient in a long-lasting relationship. If you know your partner cares for you but seems a bit distant, here are 8 signs you need to watch out for.

A healthy relationship requires more than just love. It requires respect, commitment, communication, and passion. In fact, it's that last one that keeps the spark alive when the days are drab and the years go by. After all, in the initial stages of your relationship, a single glance, a touch, a smile, and all the other little things could make your heart sing and make you feel warm and gooey inside. So when that passion starts to fizzle out, it can make you feel unwanted. That's not to say that there isn't still genuine love and affection from your partner. But is there a real attraction? Here are 8 signs that your partner loves you but isn't attracted to you anymore.

1. There's quality time spent together but no fun involved.

Back then, you might have had a lot of fun doing something spontaneous with your partner, but now it's mostly just quiet walks or simple discussions about work. If your partner isn't making exciting plans with you anymore, it could be that they don't associate that with you. In fact, it could be that they seem more excited about plans with others than with you.

2. They believe they have you all figured out.

It's nice to have a partner who knows you like the back of their hand. But it isn't always cute. When they come to you in an affectionate way with a tone that feels like they support you -- but feels like they don't "see" the real you -- it shows that they haven't seen the changes you have gone through. If the attraction is still there though, you'll notice that they are more attentive to you while you are in the moment.

3. They agree with you... for everything.

You may not argue or fight much with your partner, which is great. But you need to watch out when they start agreeing with you for everything without offering an opinion. This could mean that they just don't care enough to have a debate, engage in banter, or even disagree with you... all of which show a healthy exchange between partners who are attracted to one another.

4. The romance is gone with the wind.

When you've been together for so long, a little romance, some flowers, the unexpected gifts and chocolates or dates can help liven up the relationship. So what happens when all this stops? Your partner still loves you and they may even say it often enough, but it shows that they believe that impressing or wooing you isn't a priority anymore.

5. The conversations seem stilted.

There isn't much going on in the talking department unless it's to keep you updated. It shows that your partner fulfills their duty to keep you in the loop but doesn't really talk just because they want to. They care about you but don't feel the need to do a proper check-in with you unlike the early days of your relationship. If every message is about the bills or groceries or anything similar, you might want to take note.

6. There's ample affection but zero chemistry.

Warm hugs and cuddles are a normal thing when you've been with your partner for so long. It's just something about feeling safe in their arms. However, if the look they give is different, and it doesn't excite you the way it used to, you might start feeling a little distant. And if those touches don't make you feel desired or they stop before things get steamy, you may want to take a good look at your relationship. Love doesn't always need to be physical, but when couples are attracted to each other, the physical and the emotional meld together.

7. It gets very awkward very fast.

There used to be a time when the silliest things could evoke laughter from your partner. But now, just the two of you being alone makes everything awkward. You can still talk to them and enjoy a conversation but if they don't feel the need to try something new with you, they might believe that there's nothing more to be done in the relationship. And no, you don't deserve to be put in that kind of box. It's especially worse if they mock your ideas to do something spontaneous. Someone can love you but not respect you and you aren't someone to be disrespected.

8. Sex has become a routine.

Sex isn't supposed to be plain vanilla. It's supposed to wake you up and feel desired by this person that you love, no matter how long you've been together. Obviously, it can't be that way every time but it's supposed to make you feel something. So if you find yourself having sex because there's a certain day you need to do it or the only time your partner is not distant is when they're having sex with you, you need to take a step back and look hard at the signs. Otherwise, you might find yourself hitting a dry spell... permanently.

It doesn't have to be this way. What you can do is be honest and talk to your partner about how you're feeling and find out what they're thinking. Open the communication lines because you will need to decide whether feeling this way and underrating your own happiness is worth what your partner has to offer. And if they're on the same page as you, figure out ways about how to spice things up in the relationship... together.
